Jim Ens has been a commercial real estate lawyer for 27 years. His principal focus is commercial real estate development, with an emphasis on economic structuring, equity raises and financing issues. Over his career Jim has worked in every facet of commercial real estate law, including mixed use commercial developments, land use approvals and permitting, real estate financing (representing both lenders and borrowers), property acquisitions and dispositions including Section 1031 forward and reverse exchanges, private equity offerings, leasing, multi-lot residential development, and quiet title actions/title defense. He is experienced in both mediation and arbitration.

Married with six kids, Jim is a native of Grand Rapids. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with honors from Western Michigan University and his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. He serves on the Advisory Council of A.M.D.G. Architects, Inc. Jim is a past president of Real Property Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association and is a past president of the Board of Directors of the Inner City Christian Federation, a non-profit developer of low-income, core-city housing. Jim's clients include SIBSCO, LLC, The Granger Group of Companies, REtail Development Group, and Locus Development.
