Stephanie specializes in municipal law and has expertise in corporate and family law as well. She serves as the City Attorney for Hastings, and formerly served as the village attorney for the Village of Freeport. Prior to joining Law Weathers, she was a partner in private practice at Siegel, Hudson, Gee & Fisher and left there in 1994 to establish her own firm.

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 1986 majoring in Public and Environmental Affairs and in 1989 she received her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School . She is a member of both the State Bar of Michigan (Family Law section) and the Michigan Bar Association and has served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Barry County Bar Association.

As a former Barry County Probate Judge, Stephanie earned a reputation of integrity, competence and compassion. She was a founding member of the local Juvenile Drug Court program and Barry County Bar Associations Law Day program which teaches fourth graders about the court system. She also was a founding member and the first president of the board of directors for Green Gables Haven, a non-profit community shelter for victims of domestic violence crisis events. Stephanie currently serves on the board of directors for Green Gables Haven and serves as their secretary. Additionally, she serves as a member of the board of directors and legal counsel for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Barry County. Stephanie was an Adjunct Professor at Kellogg Community College where she instructed the Introduction of Criminal Justice class as well as instructing students in an intrashcool moot court course at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
